The Motion Picture and Television Industry in Texas will start expanding very soon. Recent tax credits and incentives will draw the industry like a magnet. Look at states like New York, Arizona, Louisiana, Illinois, and many others passing similar incentives to see how production increased several 100% in many cases.

Are you a makeup artist ready for this jump in production? Are you ready for whatever makeup technique is needed? Or is someone else, more prepared, going to end up with the job?

Ageing. What if the actors age 10, 15, or 20 years?

Beards, Moustaches, Sideburns, Goatees. Facial hair isn’t just for period films, it is also modern. How many men have goatees and moustaches today?

Bald Head. What if your actor has a shaved head and you have a stunt double (and the double won’t cut his hair)?

Bruise, Broken Nose, Scar, Open Wound, 1st or 2nd or 3rd Degree Burns, Dead Body, Black Eye, Bullet Hole, Sickly Look, Drug Addict. What if you are handed an appliance to make look like flesh?

The Answer? You learn how to do it …. first!

Leonard Engelman, one of Hollywood’s top makeup artists and Makeup Artist Academy partner, will be teaching the first Makeup Effects and Character Course given in Texas.
